Perhaps you are feeling a bit festive as the autumn months are upon us, I know I am! Grab your crisp apple cider and join us in reading today's post regarding faith. I'll start first with defining faith as the assurance or confidence in God and all his works even though much is unseen. To have faith in the Lord is to know things will work out in his favor, in his time. People often speak about their levels of faith, many new souls to the word of God have admitted to me they feel timid in their faith. This is okay for faith grows along side your knowledge of the word while keeping an open heart for God. As long as we continue to pray he works through us, our daily lives will become incredible personal examples of faith lived out. For God is active and involved in each of our lives, the moment we accept him in salvation is the moment we start to see how he moves within us. Hebrews 4:12 (ESV), "For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart." What are some ways in which people can strengthen their faith? Enrich your lives with positive reinforcement for the Lord. Surround yourself in good company, mentor lost or new souls, be ministered by a wise believer, attend a truthful church, give to your community, help the less fortunate, focus on inner beauty, submerse yourself in Christian music with wholesome lyrics.
Reach out to your family and bring everyone together for a warm moment, thus, creating an abundance of memories. You might be asking yourself, what does any of this have to do with my confidence in the Lord's ability to carry out his word in my life? What does this have to do with believing in God? The answer to these questions is, everything. Believing in God is living in truth, obeying his word by actually doing it and not just saying it. When we begin to live the way God intends us to, we start to see our faith become infused within us. Essentially, we are nourishing our faith for it to be able to grow stronger, especially for the times it is greatly needed in periods of hardship. Remember, our faith is there to lean on in any given situation - to give praise when things turn out wonderfully. Also, to embrace when heartbreaking tragedies occur. God is always with us through our highs and our lows, continue to have faith in his divine abilities. I wish you all a blessed day, Hillary White
