✞ Proverbs 8:13 ✞

Fearing God is hating sin.

To fear God is to understand his almighty power as the creator of all beings. When we fear the Lord, it means we fear displeasing him - we fear to disobey him. Not because we think we'll be struck down, but because out of love we do not want to wrong him. God is love. We know this to be true with John 4:8 (ESV) "Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love." With this we can align closely with the Lord by hating the same attributes he does; those that go against love - against good. Proverbs 8:13 gives us a direct example of those; pride, arrogance, evil behavior, and perverse speech.

I challenge you all to ask yourselves if you understand why God hates these things, and moreover, how you can help heal the world from them.

Bless you all,

Hillary White
